Go to windows explorer, enter in “C” drive, create a new directory like ‘RubyOnRails’.
Now goto command prompt enter in the directory RubyOnRails likewise ( c:\user\administrator\> cd/; c:\>cd rubyonrails ; c:\RubyOnRails> ).
now create a batch file (c:\RubyOnRails> notepad rors.bat; ). It will ask to create a file names rors.bat, say ‘yes’.
Write in the file (leave blank 2 or 3 lines, in 4th line write ” set PATH=c:\windows\system32; c:\windows”, and in the 5th line “start “Rails on Windows” /D c:\RubyOnRails ” ). Now close the notepad file and create a shortcut of ror.bat on desktop.
Now download ruby compatible version from http://rubyinstaller.org and corresponding developer kit.
Install ruby file in the ‘RubyOnRails’ directory and extract the developer kit in a new directory in ‘RubyOnRails’ named ‘DeveloperKit’.
